Feint™
A DECEPTIVE VARIABLE FONT
Designed by Delve Withrington
STORY ¦ STATUS
This experimental font explores a little of what is possible using variable font technology. The stencil style design of Feint is primarily utilitarian in nature as this font is a proof-of-concept.
Feint is engineered so every glyph has the same number of vectors and paths as every other glyph. I.e.- they are all 100% compatible with each other. By the numbers, Feint has 26 instances with 26 uppercase letters in each for a total of 676 glyphs. The first instance is the only one in alphabetical order; all 25 other instances are randomized. Confused? Give it a try in the Features section below to see for yourself.
Moving the slider along the “CYFR” axis morphs every uppercase letter into every other letter — instance by instance — visually scrambling the original message while the underlying codepoint remains intact (even if the glyph you see is not what you typed.
What can it be used for? Good question. That’s up to you to decipher.
